Nursing Care

The Cedars looks after a wide range of residents from different backgrounds, with physical or mental difficulties. We have many residents who are gently confused and need help with their day to day living, enjoying the activities and social interaction that the Home has to offer.

The Cedars also specialises in acute nursing cases, caring for residents with serious medical conditions which require a high level of skill and compassion. Our staff are trained to use syringe drivers, peg feeds and other specialised equipment to alleviate symptoms and to try and maintain an acceptable quality of life in all areas.

We work closely with the Macmillan Nurses, Stroke Nurses and the Primrose Unit at the Princess of Wales Hospital, offering 24 hour qualified nursing care to look after residents requiring periods of recuperations through to terminal care in the later stages of an acute illness.

We have other residents who have much simpler nursing needs such as diabetes but still require the care that comes with having trained, dedicated staff. Our residents and relatives can feel confident that their needs will be met in a skilled manner from the smallest problem to the most serious of conditions. The staff at The Cedars offer this peace of mind.
